It is used to securely hold flexible ducts in place on either diffusers/valves or sheet metal ducting and gives a good finish to your connection.

 

It works well when you use clamps and aluminium tape together as you clamp the flexible ducting and then you put the Aluminium tape over it to give it a good finish.
